5 minutes with - Jennifer Pollak
This month we sat down with Jennifer, a Principal Associate at Oliver Parks, who specialises in the ERP market, Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).
In our 5 minutes with Jennifer we looked at what candidates are looking for in their next role and discussed the trends she is seeing in the job market. Keep reading to find out more…
What have you found your candidates are looking for most in their next role?
Based on my experience, two factors stand out - compensation and work flexibility.
Many candidates are looking for roles that offer more financial stability and compensation packages that can keep up with the rising cost of living.
In addition to financial stability, work flexibility has become a top priority for many job seekers. Many candidates are looking for more options to work from home and the ability to balance their personal and professional lives has become increasingly important for job satisfaction and retention.
Why are people leaving their current roles?
In short, lack of compensation, flexibility and not feeling valued.
What job titles are most in demand?
In terms of job titles, I've noticed that NAV/BC Developer positions are currently in high demand. In general, there's been a greater demand for technical roles rather than functional ones.
Has the standard interview process changed in the past year?
Regarding the interview process, Covid-19 has caused a significant shift in the way companies approach hiring. Many organisations now start with a video interview before moving on to a face-to-face meeting.
What’s exciting about your market at the moment?
The current job market is incredibly exciting, with high demand for skilled professionals. However, there's a significant shortage of candidates, leading to a rise in salaries and a greater emphasis on work-life balance. For candidates, this is an excellent time to seek new opportunities and secure more favourable terms, while companies must work harder to retain their best employees.
